The Cleveland Guardians need to figure out what to do with Shane Bieber.
The pitcher looked poised to continue and maybe even finish his career with the organization, but the latest rumors say otherwise.
Guardians Prospective stated that if the front office has any indication that he intends to pick up his $16 million player option for next season, they should hold onto him.
If they haven’t had that conversation yet, then it might be wise to move him before the trade deadline.

Bieber controls his destiny because he can become a free agent by declining the option.
But if the Guardians trade him, they need to make sure to get a valuable package in return.
It would have to be worth more than the compensatory draft pick they would receive if he left as a free agent.
Bieber has been the Guardians’ ace for years, and he was expected to be a prime reinforcement for the second half of this season.
Unfortunately, he suffered a bit of a setback working his way back from Tommy John surgery, and though he could take the mound and potentially start in the playoffs, nothing is certain with the trade deadline looming.
Fans may have already seen the last of Bieber in a Guardians uniform.
