The Cleveland Guardians have the best third baseman in the world. Jose Ramirez is on a tier of his own, and that’s just an objective fact that can be backed up by stats and accolades.
The Dominican superstar has yet to win his first MVP and a World Series. At least, he will get a chance to lead his homeland to the ultimate international glory. As shown by FOX Sports: MLB on X, Ramirez will take the field to represent the Dominican Republic in the next World Baseball Classic.
The team is absolutely stacked:
“The Dominican Republic is building a juggernaut for the 2026 World Baseball Classic,” FOX Sports: MLB posted on X.

The Dominican Republic might have the best team in the world right now. Besides Ramirez, they will round up their infield with the likes of Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Ketel Marte, and Geraldo Perdomo.
Juan Soto, Julio Rodriguez, and Fernando Tatis Jr. will take care of the outfield, with Junior Caminero at designated hitter, Manny Machado on the bench, and Yainer Diaz at catcher. Then, they will have Sandy Alcantara as their ace on the mound.
They look like the strongest team, at least on paper, and while we’ve seen several strong teams fall flat when it matters the most, and they still need to prove how superior they are on the field, it’s hard to put your money against them. The fact that Ramirez will be the starting third baseman over Machado says all there is to say.
Guardians fans will be rooting for him, even when he goes against Team USA.
