Throughout MLB history, we’ve seen some players reach their prime a little later. Others seem to have a never-ending prime.
That might be the case with Jose Ramirez. He continues to age like a fine wine, and he’s established himself as the undisputed best third baseman in all of baseball. That’s a fact, not an opinion, and the numbers back it up.
As shown by Guardians Prospective on X, the Dominican third baseman is on a tier of his own. Since 2024, Ramirez has led all qualified MLB third basemen in fWAR (12.7), wRC+ (137), OPS (.868), SLG (.520), hits (341), runs (217), doubles (73), stolen bases (85), and walks-per-strikeout (0.77).
If that wasn’t enough, Ramirez is also second in batting average (.281), ISO (.239), games played (316), and home runs (69). He ranks third in OBP (.347), triples (5), and strikeout percentage (11.5 percent). Last but not least, he ranks fifth in walks (120) and sixth in walk percentage (8.9 percent).
No slowing down for Cleveland #Guardians Jose Ramirez heading into his age 33 season.

The Guardians have a true superstar in Ramirez. He has shown no signs of slowing down, and he’s coming off arguably the best season of his career.
Unfortunately, he has yet to break through the barrier and finally get his first AL MVP after being a finalist multiple times. Still, he’s not going away any time soon, so he should have some more opportunities to do so in the future.
Ramirez has spent his entire career in Cleveland, and barring a shocking turn of events, that’s not going to change. He has a prime chance to go down as the all-time leader in most stats and the greatest player in franchise history.
