Being a major leaguer is not easy: it requires players to give all they have for 162 games a year.
That’s six or seven months worth of baseball for everyone, depending on if their team makes the playoffs or not.
If we include spring training and offseason programs, too, players are usually working nine or ten months of the year.
From March to September, the wear and tear of the long season starts to show, and players do value off-days.
The Cleveland Guardians were off on Monday, before starting a series against the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday.
Tyler Freeman and the rest of his teammates are thankful for the rest they got on Monday.

“We show up each and every day with 100%, and then when those off days come, we enjoy them. And we are winning series. We are enjoying off days. Can’t ask for anything better,” he said.
We are sure many of his teammates and players around the league share that sentiment.
Baseball players don’t just go to the stadium and play for two or three hours.
They get to the ballpark early, do some drills, take some batting practice, and more, for hours.
They also travel a lot and that takes a toll on the body, too.
They do deserve their days off and have every right to enjoy them as they see fit.
The Guardians in particular are not only enjoying them, but also doing it in a great mood, since they are winning often and lead their division.
Resting and winning contribute to happiness, and they have been doing both.
