The Cleveland Guardians may have one of the most underrated managers in all of baseball.
Numbers don’t lie, and the early results back that up.
As pointed out by Guardians Prospective on X, Vogt has already posted better numbers than franchise legend Terry Francona in his first two seasons with the team.
With five games left in the regular season, Vogt has 177 wins and 141 losses for a .557 winning percentage.
Francona also won 177 games, but he lost 147 for a .546 winning percentage.
Vogt is also on pace to lead the AL Central division twice in as many years in charge, whereas Francona finished in second and third place in his first two seasons in charge of the team, respectively.
Last but not least, Vogt has already led the team to four postseason wins, and Francona failed to win a single playoff game in his first two years with the organization.

Of course, that’s not to say that Vogt is a better manager than Terry Francona already, and context also matters.
There are plenty of things that can be a factor in a manager’s success – or lack thereof – in charge of a team.
Then again, this should be more than enough for the fans to have some faith in their manager.
He still has a long way to go to be considered one of the best managers in the game, but the early results should be quite encouraging, especially after watching this team work its way back from the dead to secure the top of the division.
