The Cleveland Guardians were playing the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday night, a game that they ended up losing 3-0.
It was Mother’s Day in America and other parts of the world, and there is always space for mothers in baseball.
The league certainly thought so on Sunday, and had Guardians manager face some ‘tough’ questions during an in-game interview.
The interviewer? His wife Alyssa, who had an important thing to ask him: did he remember to make dentist appointments for their three kids?
It was a cool moment on air, and the best thing is that Vogt provided the correct answer to the question.
“Oh, yes, I actually remembered to do that one, so I did carry my weight a little bit,” he said, hilariously.

Vogt was surprised, yes, but had the confidence of someone who did his job.
You can certainly translate that last phrase to his current reality with the Guardians, as well.
Last year, against all odds, he took the Guards all the way to the American League Championship Series in his first year as Terry Francona’s replacement.
This season, many specialists and fans had written Cleveland off, saying that they couldn’t possibly repeat last year’s performance.
And yet here we are, the Guards are a solid 23-17, just 2.5 removed from first place in the AL Central.
Yet Sunday night and this wholesome interview showed us another facet of Vogt: his marriage to Alyssa (to whom he wished a happy Mother’s Day, of course) and his duties as a father.
It was a cool moment in the middle of a very close game.
Wins will come and go, but family is forever.
