The Cleveland Guardians are playing their best baseball of the season right now.
Granted, they shouldn’t have waited until mid-July to do so, but better late than never.
As shown by Jay Cuda on X, they’ve been one of the hottest teams in baseball after the All-Star break, scoring 18 runs in their first three games.

That’s not counting the 10 runs they scored in the series-opening win over the Baltimore Orioles.
They’ve now won three of four after the All-Star Game, averaging seven runs per contest.
That’s more than twice as many runs as they averaged during their dreadful slump in June.
That cost them a chance to chase down the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central, and some thought the Guardians wouldn’t even be able to land an AL Wild Card.
However, judging by the way they’ve been playing for the past three weeks or so, they should have a legitimate chance to return to the playoffs.
They are a team with solid pitching, a better bullpen, and one of the easiest schedules for the rest of the season.
Granted, it would be helpful if the front office chooses to be buyers ahead of the trade deadline, but that’s not likely to happen.
Even if that isn’t the case, the Guardians are proving that they can be competitive, and that they’re not going to bow down after a cold stretch.
