The Cleveland Guardians have been one of the best teams in the majors over the past 10 games or so.
They’ve been a streaky team, but this time, they’re not relying on their inconsistent offense.
Instead, they’re riding some of the hottest pitching in all of baseball.
When asked about that, even Slade Cecconi had to crack some jokes about their situation:
“I went seven no-hit [innings] and threw the third best game of the week. How often does that happen?” Cecconi said, via Tim Stebbins.
Cecconi, asked about the run the rotation has been on, smiled and joked postgame: "I went seven no-hit [innings] and threw the third best game of the week. How often does that happen?" https://t.co/rzs8dW6IMP

The starting rotation is pitching out of its mind right now.
Overall, the Guardians’ pitching staff owns a 1.50 ERA over the past 10 games.
That’s an absolutely elite mark, and while it’s almost impossible to sustain, it gives this team just the type of momentum they’ve been craving all year long.
The Guardians aren’t going to rake baseballs left and right.
They’re not the best offensive team in the league; they’re just not built that way.
So, if they can keep dominating on the mound, they will always have a big chance to win.
The Guardians are still trying to get the final spot in the American League wild-card race.
They’ve gone 9-1 in their last 10 games.
It’s almost impossible to think that they’re just going to go undefeated the rest of the way; there will be some setbacks.
However, this team has proven time and again that they will not let adversity get the best of them.
They will keep on pushing and fighting, and even though it won’t be easy, it’s hard to count them out with the way they’re playing right now.
