Cleveland Guardians star Jose Ramirez was hitting a solid, yet unspectacular .261/.312/.441 after May 1.
The overall sentiment was that Ramirez had been disappointing, but he was also due for a hot streak.
He’s just too good to struggle for long, and none of his underlying stats and metrics suggested a decline.
It was just a matter of being patient.
Ramirez and the Guardians are now being rewarded with excellent numbers.
May has brought out the best of J-Ram, and we are finally witnessing his peak, elite version.
Ever since May 6, he has been on a tear, logging 16 straight games with at least one hit.
He reached that number on Friday with an RBI triple.
“Our goat. Hosey extends his hitting streak to 16 games with an RBI triple!” the team posted on X.

Without even including Friday’s game against the Tigers, Ramirez’s stat line has improved to .307/.364/.517, which is definitely more like vintage J-Ram.
With nine home runs and 12 stolen bases entering Friday, Ramirez is also showcasing his exciting power-speed combo in addition to the contact, on-base skills, defense, and throwing arm.
He is one of the most complete players in MLB and is trying to take the Guards to the postseason again.
To return to October and reach the heights of last season, when they were eliminated in the AL Championship Series, they need this version of Ramirez.
He offered good, but not great production in April, but is back to his very best in May.
He is, once again, a force at the plate, the kind of threat that opposing pitchers just can’t ignore.
