The Cleveland Guardians will welcome one of their most coveted prospects to begin the playoffs.
After a full season of waiting, they have called him up when it matters most.
“Cleveland Guardians 23-year-old OF prospect Chase DeLauter will be on the 26-man roster and make his MLB debut in the AL Wild Card Series vs. the Detroit,” Guardians Prospective wrote on X.

DeLauter would become just the sixth player in MLB history to make his debut during the postseason.
That speaks volumes not only about his talent and potential impact but also about the faith the organization has in him.
A first-round pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, DeLauter was expected to make his way to the majors at some point this season.
But he struggled with injuries again, and it seemed like his debut would be put off until next year.
Now, he could give the Guardians’ offense a much-needed boost.
In 34 Triple-A games for Columbus, he slashed .278/.383/.476 with five home runs.
He struck out 23 times with 22 walks.
The Guardians took things slowly with him, and he’s been out since July after having surgery on his wrist.
But with Cleveland in need of help in the outfield, he could play a big role along with fellow rookies C.J. Kayfus and George Valera.
The Guardians have had great success with first-year players, and if DeLauter is as good as advertised, he could be one of their postseason heroes.
