The Cleveland Guardians have yet to make a significant offseason move to improve their lineup. Instead, they recently made an addition to the fringes of their roster.
The Guardians reportedly have signed former Atlanta Braves outfielder Stuart Fairchild.
“Guardians have signed OF Stuart Fairchild to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to ML camp. Spent 2025 in the ATL and TB organizations,” Guards Insider wrote on X.

A five-year MLB veteran, Fairchild played 28 games for the Braves last season before being purchased by the Tampa Bay Rays. He has also played for the Cincinnati Reds, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Francisco Giants and Seattle Mariners.
In 277 MLB games, the 29-year-old is batting .223 with 18 home runs and 25 stolen bases. If he makes the Guardians out of spring training, he could contribute as a versatile fourth outfielder who has played all three positions.
The Guardians’ outfield could be in flux if they move on from Steven Kwan. The All-Star left fielder has been seeking a contract extension but could be traded if the sides are unable to come to terms on a long-term deal.
However, that would leave a huge void to fill for manager Stephen Vogt. Kwan is not only a key part of the lineup but is also a Gold Glove defender.
Cleveland does have prospect Chase DeLauter in line for a bigger role next season, in addition to returning young outfielder Angel Martinez. C.J. Kayfus also could see time there, but he is more likely to contribute at first base.
