The Cleveland Guardians need as much help as they can get right now.
With closer Emmanuel Clase no longer an option, relievers Cade Smith and Hunter Gaddis will most likely handle the bulk of the work in the ninth inning.
But as Al Pawlowski pointed out on X, Nic Enright is also becoming an “important part” of the bullpen.
Nic is fast-becoming an important part of the Guards’ bullpen. He’s proven no challenge is too big to overcome. https://t.co/phuQOoDmlS

Enright recently got his first MLB save against the New York Mets.
It was an emotional moment, as he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2022 and has been through multiple rounds of immunotherapy, with another round scheduled following the season.
Enright has a 2.01 ERA in 22.1 innings.
He’s climbed his way up the ladder and been resilient on and off the field, and is an inspiration to his teammates.
It is much needed, as the Guardians may have lost Clase for the season.
He is on non-disciplinary paid leave as part of an MLB gambling investigation that also involves teammate Luis L. Ortiz.
Some believe Clase is not going to be back on the mound this season, while others say he may never play again.
Smith has done an outstanding job and looks like a star in the making.
But if the Guardians want to keep the momentum going and make the playoffs, they will need everybody else to step up as well.
