The Cleveland Guardians could use some firepower in their outfield.
That’s why it’s so nice to see that some of their young prospects are shaping out pretty well.
As reported by Guardians Prospective on X, OF prospect Kahlil Watson is settling in just fine at Triple-A.
He just hit his first homer with the Columbus Clippers, a 377-foot solo home run to right field.

The 22-year-old recently got the nod to join the Triple-A affiliate after some impressive performances with the Double-A Akron RubberDucks.
He entered the year as the team’s No. 28 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, after making his high Double-A debut last season.
Watson needs to improve his strikeout rate, as he struck out 30.1% of the time in his first season at Akron, and he didn’t improve that much this season (28.5%).
He also logged a modest 10.3% walk rate, so he needs to stop chasing so many pitches.
Even so, the improvement was more than evident, as he slashed 247/.337/.461 and a wRC+ of 134 with eight home runs, 13 doubles, and five triples before his promotion to Triple-A.
The Miami Marlins took Watson with the No. 16 pick back in 2021 before trading him for Josh Bell a couple of years later.
The Guardians could certainly use some offensive help in the outfield, and while it’s highly unlikely that we will get to see him in the majors this season, perhaps he will find his way to the show next year.
