The Cleveland Guardians are hopefully enjoying their hard-earned downtime that comes along with obtaining a first-round bye as they get set to host the all too familiar Chicago White Sox for Game 1 of the ALDS on Saturday. With the field wide open, nobody wants to get too ahead of themselves, but Cleveland has its best chance in years to make it to a World Series and finally win it.
It would be the perfect end to what has been a special season, but even if the Guardians aren’t able to finally end that well-documented drought, there has been a lot to celebrate in 2026. Guardians Prospective recently did their best to commemorate all that has happened this season and it’s a great watch ahead of the ALDS.
The Cleveland Guardians shared a video just hours before Game 1. Set to the tune of “Dream On” by Aerosmith, the video highlights some of the most memorable moments of the season en route to winning a third straight AL Central crown.

Winning the division is always an incredible accomplishment, but this fan base still has a sour taste in its mouth after the last two playoff exits. Winning the division only gets you to the big dance. It’s a nice accomplishment to hang a banner for, but these fans have had enough of being content with division crowns. It’s time to aim higher.
It all begins with a team that cannot be overlooked on Saturday. This White Sox team may not have the track record or the pitching, but the Guardians know better than anyone what this team is capable of after battling back and forth with them all year for this division.
