On Saturday, Cleveland Guardians star Jose Ramirez had to leave the game in the sixth inning with what was called a right wrist sprain.
The entire city of Cleveland found itself holding its breath until there was a more concrete report on the superstar’s potential return date.
On Sunday, as the Guards took down the Kansas City Royals without J-Ram, manager Stephen Vogt provided a more detailed, optimistic report on the third baseman’s wrist.
“Vogt said Ramírez remains day to day. He passed all the tests and imaging was negative. Maybe available to pinch-hit today & hopefully ready Monday. “But we also want to be super cautious with this and make sure it doesn’t turn into something that’s going to linger,” Vogt said,” MLB.com’s Tim Stebbins wrote on X.

The ‘passed all tests’ and ‘imaging was negative’ parts brought a smile to thousands of faces in the city of Cleveland.
It means there is no fracture, which shortens Ramirez’s return timeline dramatically.
He could be back on Monday, but here comes the second part of Stebbins’ post: the Guardians don’t want to rush him and that probably means they will keep him out of action for a day or two.
Still, a day or two is a hundred times better than a month or two for a team that needs its star player to achieve its objectives.
Ramirez is still looking for his first hit of the 2025 campaign, but things are trending up after a few scary hours this weekend.
It looks like Cleveland dodged a bullet: things could have been a lot worse.
