The Cleveland Guardians are just one week away from winning the AL Central for a third straight year. Coming out of their final homestand of the season, they have already extended another important streak to three in a row.
As befits a perennial player contender, the Guardians continue to attract legions of fans to Progressive Field. With an excellent turnout over Fan Appreciation Weekend, Cleveland hit a significant number again.
Guardians fans have reached a major milestone for a third straight season, surpassing 2 million in an attendance streak for the first time in nearly three decades.
“The Guardians’ season-long attendance comes in at 2,001,415. They’ve eclipsed 2 million in three straight seasons for the first time since 2000-02,” Stebbins posted.

On Sunday, for a game against the Athletics that was delayed more than two hours at the start, the crowd was listed as 21,110. The crowd was 35,391 on Friday, with 31,615 the total on Saturday.
Almost every last one of those tickets sold was needed to push the Guardians over the threshold for the season. In 2025, the total was 2,051,360, and in 2024 the number was 2,056,264.
In the early days of Jacobs Field, Cleveland had a streak of six straight 3-million-plus seasons from 1996 through 2001. After going over 2.6 million in 2002, attendance fell below 2 million in 2003.
In the history of the stadium, the franchise has surpassed 2 million in attendance 15 times. The record is 3,468,456 fans during the 1999 season.
The Guardians have certainly rewarded those patrons during this most recent stretch. On the verge of winning the division for a third straight season, they did need to win their final five home games to finish above .500 at 41-40 for the year.
Facing the White Sox, they used two comeback victories to regain possession of first place, and they swept the Athletics to complete their home schedule. Cleveland will wrap up the campaign this week on the road against the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals.
If the Guardians can clinch the division, it will set the stage for some home playoff games, perhaps even as the No. 2 seed in the American League.
