The Cleveland Guardians just lost outfielder Lane Thomas to an injury again, this time to a case of plantar fasciitis.
He won’t be able to play for a while, so the team placed him on the 10-day injured list again just a few days after he returned from a bone bruise on his right wrist.
Sending him to the list gives the team a roster spot on the 26-man roster.
After just a handful of rehab games after offseason Tommy John surgery, the team announced some really exciting news for fans: David Fry has been activated from the 60-day injured list.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the Guards designated pitcher Cody Bolton for assignment.

To celebrate his return, the team posted a cool video with some of the most exciting moments of Fry’s career on X.
“Heeeeeeeee’s baaaaaack. All-Star David Fry has returned to the 26-man roster,” they wrote.

Fry went yard during his rehab game with the Triple-A Columbus Clippers on Friday, a long drive to center field that certifies his swing is close to being up to speed.
In nine rehab games between the Arizona Complex League, Double-A, and Triple-A, however, Fry hit a paltry .103/.182/.207.
He might not be quite ready to put up an above-average offensive performance yet, but the organization is willing to let him regain his rhythm in the majors at this point.
They need his offensive contributions badly: last year, Fry made it to the All-Star game and posted a 129 wRC+.
He offers the kind of consistency and defensive versatility that this roster so desperately needs.
