On Friday night, Andrew Walters pitched in the ninth inning of the Cleveland Guardians – Los Angeles Angels game.
Cleveland was down 4-0, so Walters was tasked with limiting further damage to try and give the offense one last chance to turn things around.
After making a pitch, Walters grimaced in pain, grabbing the back of his shoulder in agony.
It looked painful, but we are sure his arm doesn’t hurt as much as his spirit: the talented righty saw his spring ramp-up process derailed by a shoulder injury and had to miss a lot of time to get ready to face MLB hitters again.
He was just recently called up and was making his second appearance of the 2025 campaign with a Guardians uniform on Friday.
Judging by his reaction and the area he grabbed, you just know he will be out for a while.
Per Guardians Prospective, he will get some tests and imaging on the injured area to get some more clarity.
“Cleveland Guardians RHP Andrew Walters is set to get an MRI on Saturday. Per manager Steven Vogt the injury was “not good,” he posted on X.

The MRI will give Cleveland a better idea of the exact injury and how much time Walters is set to miss, but you could just see it’s a significant one.
Walters is one of the top up-and-coming arms in the Guardians’ talented bullpen, capable of reaching the upper 90s with his fastball and striking out more than a batter per inning.
He is expected to be placed on the 15-day injured list on Saturday as the organization weighs its options in the short term.
They need to hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.
