The Cleveland Guardians are back on track.
They have been one of the hottest teams in baseball for over a month now, and they’re in the playoff mix.
Of course, it has been a collective effort.
Nevertheless, former franchise star Carlos Baerga wanted to give one unit its flowers.
“The [pitching staff] are doing the job. The guys are stepping up and going to the next level. I’m very happy. It’s beautiful to watch the game right now,” Baerga said.

The Guardians are challenging for an AL Wild Card, but that might not be their top goal anymore.
With the Detroit Tigers struggling after their superb start to the season, the Guardians have a legitimate chance to win the AL Central.
The pitching staff, like Baerga said, has been on a roll over the past six weeks or so.
Unfortunately, the team traded ace Shane Bieber before he returned from Tommy John surgery, but there’s a legitimate chance that John Means will take the mound a couple of times before the end of the regular season.
Also, while losing closer Emmanuel Clase may have been a lethal blow to any other team, that hasn’t been the case with the Guardians.
Cade Smith and Hunter Gaddis have done an outstanding job of finishing games in his absence, and the team is playing its best baseball of the season when it matters most.
