The Cleveland Guardians could use as much help as they can get right now.
Some of their players have underperformed at the plate, particularly their outfielders.
And while help will be on the way with Lane Thomas and potentially Chase DeLauter, they still need to keep an open mind about their roster.
With that in mind, MLB analyst Bruce Drennan argued that it was time to talk about Daniel Schneemann as a legitimate MLB player, arguing that he’s earned his spot on the team and should continue to be a key contributor going forward:
“I like the way [Daniel Schneemann] plays the game. He’s old-fashioned, and he plays the game hard, the way you fundamentally should. How can you not like him? He’s really earned this spot with the Guardians in the major leagues. He’s a major league player,” Drennan said.

Schneemann has most definitely made the most of the expanded opportunities.
The utility infielder has proven to be a versatile defender who can make an impact regardless of where he’s lined up; he’s even played some outfield.
He seems better suited to play at second base, but given the team’s questions at shortstop, he might be the best stopgap option there right now.
He’s hit safely in seven of his last ten games, hitting .233 (7-for-30) during that span to make the most of Brayan Rocchio’s demotion to Triple-A Columbus.
All in all, he’s slashing .246/.328/.447 slash line with six home runs, five doubles, one steal, 13 RBI, and 16 runs scored over 129 plate appearances.
