Everybody knows that the Cleveland Guardians had the best bullpen in the league by a considerable margin.
What very few people know is the extent of the unit’s dominance.
Sometimes we see things or situations occur in the league, but we don’t realize certain realities until we see the stats and the numbers.
There are some stats to help us understand just how good the Guardians relievers were this year.
“I knew the Cleveland Guardian’s bullpen was good in 2024, but damn were they GOOD. Bullpen ERA: 2.57 (1st by over half a run), 5 RP with 40+ IP and <2.00 ERA, added Andrew Walters to the mix late-season who looks like an elite RP in the making,” fantasy baseball analyst Eric Cross posted on X.

The Guards bullpen was better, by ERA, than everyone else in baseball by more than half a run.
However, that might not be the most impressive stat of all.
They had not one, not two, not three or four; but a shocking five relievers with 40 or more innings pitched and an ERA of 2.00 or lower.
That’s amazing.
Emmanuel Clase, Hunter Gaddis, Tim Herrin, Cade Smith and Eli Morgan were the “fabulous five” Tom achieve the aforementioned feat.
In addition to them, this unit has Walters who, like Cross said, is a future star and showed it in the regular season and the playoffs.
It also has the reliable Pedro Avila, who continually gave his team a chance to come back in the score multiple times in October; Nick Sandlin, Erik Sabrowski, and more.
As good as Cleveland’s bullpen was in 2024, 2025 could be even better.
