A lot of things had to go right for the Cleveland Guardians to win the AL Central for the third year in a row and advance to the ALCS once again this season. The pain of falling two games short of the World Series is still very fresh, but once it eventually subsides, the fans will be proud of everything the team accomplished this year.
Between the young talent, the rejuvenated offense, and the always reliable pitching staff, this team is set up for more success in the future. This organization is becoming a model of consistency, and few exemplify that mentality better than starting pitcher Tanner Bibee, who just won a noteable award for the second time.
The Guardians shared that Bibee has won the Fielding Bible Award for the second time in his career. The Fielding Bible Awards recognize the best defensive player at every position in the league, and this will go right on Bibee’s mantle next to his previous win in 2024.
“Congratulations to Tanner Bibee on winning the @SportsInfo_SIS Fielding Bible Award for the second time in his career! This award recognizes the top defensive player at each position.”

Bibee didn’t have the best season as he posted an ERA over 4.00 every month except for June. He lost 15 games and his ERA has now gotten higher every year he has been in the league. That being said, the step back in his pitching performance didn’t affect his fielding whatsoever.
Bibee is also a finalist for his first Gold Glove award. He did make three errors, which equaled his total from the previous three years of his career, but the advanced stats loved him and he certainly passed the eye test.
Congrats to Bibee on the hardware and hopefully he has another one in his near future in the form of that elusive Gold Glove.
