The Cleveland Guardians have won three straight games after dropping last Saturday’s doubleheader against the New York Yankees.
They beat the Yanks on Sunday in the finale and then took the first two games in Boston against the Red Sox.
The last one, a 10-7 victory in extra innings, was a thrilling affair that had several lead changes and showed the world how much heart the Guards have.
It looked improbable after dropping Saturday’s doubleheader, but heading into Wednesday’s action, the Guardians actually have the best record in the majors.
“The best record in baseball (12-5) belongs to….. the Cleveland Guardians,” Guardians insider Zack Meisel tweeted.

The next-best record belongs to the Yankees, who have lost three consecutive contests heading into Wednesday.
Even after losing Shane Bieber, their ace, Cleveland has not only remained competitive, but has shown grit, a productive lineup, and an effective pitching staff.
With Tuesday’s 10-7 victory in Boston, the Guardians also took their run differential to +38, the second-best in baseball after the Kansas City Royals (+39).
Their record and differential deserves a lot of credit because of the limited payroll, the injuries, and the fact they are playing under a new manager in Stephen Vogt.
Cleveland is doing things the right way, and whether they win the division or not, should remain competitive and contend for a postseason spot.
Fans are excited about the team and its 2024 outlook, and there is a lot to like and a myriad reasons to watch and follow the Guardians’ season.
