The Cleveland Guardians are always looking to add young talent to their ranks. That’s the best way to keep up with MLB powerhouses without having to outspend them.
So, it’s never a surprise to see them in pursuit of multiple young international prospects. That’s particularly the case in the Caribbean.
According to Guardians Prospective, Cleveland is the favorite to sign catcher prospect Sebastian Puche.
The native of Venezuela is training with Luis Romero. He will be eligible to join an MLB organization on the 2026 international signing day.

The Guardians have a long history of finding and developing talent. Hopefully, Puche can be the next player to join that long list.
Even so, fans must be wary not to get too carried away with this news. He still needs to clear plenty of hurdles to get to the majors, assuming he even ends up signing with the Guardians.
Countless factors can get in the way of a young player’s development, and while the Guardians are known for being patient with their prospects, there are simply no guarantees at this point in their career.
Puche will have to work hard and stay healthy. Maybe, one day, not too long in the future, fans will look back on his signing as a pivotal moment in franchise history.
