The Cleveland Guardians’ season didn’t end the way they hoped. However, everybody’s entitled to some well-deserved rest.
That includes Bo Naylor, who made the most of his free time with his girlfriend. He also made a big personal announcement.
“Congratulations to Cleveland Guardians catcher Bo Naylor, who got engaged last week while on vacation in Italy,” Guardians Prospective wrote on X.

Naylor is coming off an up-and-down season. Despite some miscues, manager Stephen Vogt continued to use him ahead of defensive specialist Austin Hedges.
Granted, Hedges doesn’t offer much at the plate, so as good as he was at calling a game, Naylor was probably the better choice. Fortunately for the Guardians, it eventually paid off.
Naylor shook off his early-season woes in the second half of the campaign. He was a much better defender down the stretch, showing signs of promise.
More than that, he stopped striking out so much. The power is clearly there, but his discipline at the plate often left a lot to be desired.
Now, with Hedges back in the mix and David Fry potentially getting some time behind the plate, Naylor will have to take his game up a notch to keep his job. He’s in line to be the starting catcher, but that can change.
Naylor is a talented player who has the potential to be a legitimate power bat, even if he doesn’t hit for average. For now, however, baseball might be the last thing on his mind.
