The Cleveland Guardians have one of the most promising prospects in all of baseball. And now, the whole world is about to watch him.
Travis Bazzana will represent his native Australia at the upcoming World Baseball Classic. And, as shown in an emotional video on social media, he actually had a note predicting he’d make the cut to play for the team six years ago.
The young infielder admitted that it has been a goal of his for a very long time. Moreover, he successfully predicted around 75 percent of the team’s lineup all the way back in 2019, so he did pretty well there as well.

The Guardians are keeping high hopes for their former No. 1 pick, and the fans will most definitely keep an eye out for him and his performances in the big tournament. He’s a prime candidate to make the Opening Day roster next season, although that sounds unlikely at this point.
Bazzana was expected to get a call-up last season. Unfortunately, an injury derailed his promising campaign in the minors, so he didn’t even make it to Triple-A Columbus.
Now, he’s expected to get the nod at some point in 2026. However, he will face some steep competition in the Guardians’ stacked middle infield.
They still need to figure out what to do with that logjam. Besides Bazzanna, they also have Angel Genao, Juan Brito, Daniel Schneemann, Brayan Rocchio, Gabriel Arias, and maybe even Angel Martinez. Even so, there’s no doubt that he’s going to get as many opportunities as possible, as the No. 1 prospect in the organization.
