The Cleveland Guardians hoped that Travis Bazzana would take the field at some point this season.
They rushed him through the farm system because he was clearly wasting his time in the lower levels.
Unfortunately, an oblique injury cost him one and a half months of his development, thus forcing the team’s hand to change their plans of calling him up.
However, this season hasn’t been a waste by any means.
If anything, the Australian infielder continues to impress at the Triple-A level.
As pointed out by Guardians Prospective on X, Bazzana hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning of the Clippers’ win over Indianapolis, and he now has three home runs in his last two games and four home runs in as many games.
Bazzana locked in!
Cleveland #Guardians 23yr old (2B) prospect Travis Bazzana crushed a 380 foot 3-run HR in the 6th inning for Columbus 102.6 mph off the bat vs Indianapolis.

The former No. 1 pick has always drawn walks at an elite rate, but he wasn’t necessarily known for his power, so this addition to his repertoire is quite positive.
He’s going to be in line to be the team’s starting second baseman next season, with Brayan Rocchio most likely moving back to shortstop.
He’s the No. 15 prospect in all of baseball, according to MLB Pipeline, and the No. 1 prospect in the organization.
Of course, it was a shame to see his MLB debut delayed because of an injury, especially considering that he had no previous history of major ailments.
But if he continues this impressive trajectory and stays healthy, there’s no reason to believe he can’t make an impact from day one of the 2026 MLB season.
