The Cleveland Guardians made their longest postseason run since losing the World Series in 2016 as they lost the American League Championship Series to the New York Yankees.
With three teams from the American League Central making the playoffs, the Guardians were bound to match up with one of their division rivals in the postseason.
This was the case in the American League Division Series as the Guardians defeated the Detroit Tigers in five games.
American League Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal of the Tigers didn’t hold back his thoughts when asked about the fans in Cleveland.
“Houston was loud, but I thought Cleveland was a better environment,” Skubal said.

Skubal stated in many different ways how the environment in Cleveland was buzzing and the fans were engaged with every pitch.
The Guardians missed the postseason in 2023 but were able to get back in and make a run in 2024 as they came up one series short of a World Series appearance.
Skubal was the best pitcher in the American League in 2024, but the Guardians were able to get to him in the ALDS as he had a zero and one record in two starts in the series.
Guardians fans got to experience the drama and excitement of a deep postseason run, and they hope to get that experience again in 2025.
The Guardians will have their work cut out for them if they want to win the American League Central in consecutive years as the division appears like it will be strong again in 2025.
