The Cleveland Guardians have arguably the second-best player in the American League right now.
Notably, being behind New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge isn’t a criticism, it’s a bit of an honor.
Jose Ramirez recently made history by logging his seventh 20/20 season, which ties him for fourth-most in MLB history.
With that in mind, fellow All-Star Steven Kwan had some big words to describe his teammate.
“He’s the GOAT. He’s the GOAT for a reason,” Kwan said. “I feel like that’s just another accolade for him to hang on the wall. I’d be lying if I said I even noticed it. He’s probably not even thinking about it either; he’s got bigger and better on his mind. That just shows how great of a high-caliber player he is.”
Ramirez is one of the greatest players to ever represent this organization.
He’s as consistent as they come, and he could’ve been considered a top-three MVP candidate in almost every season, including this one.
The third baseman has almost single-handedly kept his team in contention this season, even when things weren’t going their way.
Some have said the organization owes it to him to trade him to a contender, but he’s never been the type of player who will run from a challenge.
Fortunately, it seems like the rest of the team is finally catching up with him, getting things done at the plate after going through one of the worst months in franchise history.
If the Guardians continue to hit at this rate, there’s no doubt that they can make some noise in the AL Wild Card race, especially with Ramirez leading the way.
