The Cleveland Guardians’ offense has scored 31 runs in its last four games. Yes, the same unit that has failed to impress time and again in recent years is now looking like a powerhouse.
The team has won six of its last seven games. Once upon a time, we would all say that the pitching staff was the primary factor behind such a run. This time, however, the bats are coming through.
Even Steven Kwan, who has had a rough campaign to this point for his lofty standards, has been playing better in recent games. The former All-Star and Gold Glove Award winner spoke highly of the offense and his teammates, summing up the approach that has allowed them to thrive in 2026.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s a dangerous lineup. And I think the thing that we’ve always been talking about is ’13 versus 1′, and I think it really feels like that. And if a guy doesn’t get it done, the next guy’s gonna get it done. We got guys on the bench who are ready to go, educated on who’s coming up. Yeah, it’s a full offense.” Kwan said, per News 5 Cleveland’s Mason Horodyski.
#Guardians Steven Kwan in Detroit on how fun it has been being around Cleveland’s offense lately:

For the first time in ages, the Guardians have quality depth. It’s not just a deep squad; it’s also very talented, especially among position players.
Think about it this way: Cleveland is so deep and talented that excellent young hitters such as George Valera and CJ Kayfus don’t have a place on the active roster at the moment. Nobody knows if Gabriel Arias, a starter to open the season, will have a spot when he returns from injury.
The Guardians are mashing. It took some time for them to reach this point, and a lot of patience with struggling hitters through the years. They are now reaping the benefits of that patience with the likes of Angel Martinez, Daniel Schneemann, Brayan Rocchio, and others. Oh, and those doubting Jose Ramirez can now understand that the season is long, and getting hot was just a matter of time for him.
Just as Kwan says, everybody in the Guardians’ lineup can get a huge hit or a key walk, from one through nine. And that’s definitely not easy to achieve.
The Guardians’ manager, coaches, the front office, the analytics staff, and, of course, the players all deserve a lot of credit for Cleveland’s division-leading 27-22 record so far.
