The Cleveland Guardians haven’t had much luck with outfielders and injuries this season.
Things started with the wrong foot when top outfield prospect Chase DeLauter needed sports hernia surgery, missing multiple weeks of action and delaying a potential call-up.
Then, they lost starting center fielder Lane Thomas for about a month with a bone bruise on his right wrist.
This week, the Guardians and their fans got their biggest scare of the year.
All-Star left fielder Steven Kwan left a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers due to right wrist inflammation.
He was pulled in the fourth inning, and the following hours were filled with concern for the organization and its fans.
The Guardians ruled out any structural damage and, after an off day, Kwan is back in the lineup at the leadoff spot.

The Guardians are starting a series against the Los Angeles Angels, and Kwan will be the catalyst of the offense.
He ended up not missing any games, just a few innings when he was removed.
The talented contact master is slashing .311/.371/.425 with 12 doubles, four home runs and a .795 OPS.
The power is not really there, but everything else in his game is above average or plus.
He is one of the steadiest contributors on the Guardians, and having him available after the injury scare is a boost of confidence for him and his teammates.
