The Cleveland Guardians needed Jose Ramirez to get back on his feet.
The superstar infielder went just 2-for-25 during the team’s 5-1 road trip vs. the New York Mets and Chicago White Sox.
But just like all great players, he wasn’t going to struggle for much longer.
He got to business right away by hitting a homer in the first inning, and then he capped it off by giving his team a 4-3 lead with another solo blast in the eighth inning.
As a result, he became the franchise’s all-time leader in multi-homer games (27).
For Steven Kwan, however, it wasn’t much of a surprise.
When asked about it, he told MLB.com’s Tim Stebbins that Ramirez seemed to know this was coming:
“He told me yesterday he was working on his good luck, so I guess it worked out today for him,” Kwan said of Ramírez’s milestone postgame, per Tim Stebbins.

Ramirez is the best player on the team and the best third baseman in all of baseball, so it was just a matter of time before he got out of this slump.
It couldn’t have happened at a better time, as the Guardians needed every single one of those home runs to get past the Miami Marlins.
This team has no more margin for error.
They now have to tackle every single game as if it were Game 7 of the World Series, and they simply can’t afford to lose games against lesser teams.
Hopefully, this will be just what Ramirez needed to get back on track and get hot ahead of the final stretch of the season, all while the rest of the team has finally stepped up on offense as well.
