The Cleveland Guardians will play against the Philadelphia Phillies at home on Saturday, starting at 6:10 pm ET.
Tanner Bibee will take the mound for the Guards at Progressive Field, and Ranger Suarez will represent the Phils.
When that game starts, and if there aren’t any unexpected circumstances that prevent Stephen Vogt from being in the dugout for Cleveland as the manager, the skipper will reach a cool milestone.
“Steven Vogt’s next game will be his 200th as the Cleveland Guardians manager. Current record: Wins – 115 Losses – 84 Winning percentage – .578%,” Guardians Prospective posted on X.

Just to be clear, these are regular season games: his successful venture into the 2024 postseason is not included.
200 games are not bad for a rookie, inexperienced manager, which is what he was when he was tasked with the responsibility of replacing the best and most successful skipper in franchise history, Terry Francona.
Vogt knows the game like the palm of his hand.
Former catchers have a deeper understanding of it, probably because they constantly communicate with the pitcher and have a prime view of every part of the field.
But his success goes well beyond his knowledge of baseball.
He is very good at creating and nurturing relationships, and his players trust him.
Once players trust their manager completely, they are willing to go to battle for him, grasp his ideas, and execute them on the field.
Vogt has been highly successful with that .578 winning percentage, but the respect he has earned around the industry is far more valuable and telling than any win-loss record.
