The Cleveland Guardians pulled off a historic comeback to win the AL Central.
No team in MLB history had overcome such a big deficit to win a division.
However, Stephen Vogt said he isn’t quite sure how they did it.
When asked about that comeback, the Guardians manager gave a candid response.
How in the world did the Guardians pull off this biggest comeback in baseball history from 15.5 games back to an AL Central crown?
Vogt: "To answer that really shortly, I have no clue." 😂 pic.twitter.com/e4SA4tvKQO

The Guardians trailed by as many as 15.5 games at one point during the season and were 11 games out in September.
Not only were they unlikely to make the playoffs as a wild card, but there was almost no way for them to qualify as a division champion.
Chances are, if the season were played again, 99 times out of 100, they wouldn’t make the playoffs.
As much as Vogt wants to stay humble, he deserves all the credit in the world, as do the players.
It’s not easy to stay focused and motivated during long losing streaks and extended hitting droughts.
It’s only worse when your team goes through a gambling scandal that costs it an All-Star closer.
With the additional uncertainty regarding the trade deadline, the fact that they were able to pull this off is even more impressive.
Of course, the team wasn’t perfect, and they ideally wouldn’t have been that far behind to begin with.
But, all things considered, they did a great job with the hand they were given.
Granted, the final outcome was quite disappointing, and it felt like they should’ve won the AL Wild Card series against the Detroit Tigers.
Nevertheless, it looks like the Guardians are trending in the right direction and might be just a couple of moves away from a World Series appearance.
