Stephen Vogt has played baseball since he was a kid.
Even when he was a minor leaguer, however, he got himself very involved in everything that has to do with managing: building lineups, coming up with strategies, and more.
He had it in him: he knew he was going to be a manager one day.
Even though Vogt completed a very solid playing career, he can become an even better skipper.
After retiring in 2022, he spent 2023 with the Seattle Mariners as their quality control coach.
However, after the retirement of Terry Francona, the Guardians are giving him his first crack at managing.
He described his style in a few words.
“New Guardians manager Stephen Vogt describes his managerial style to @thesportsGab at the @CLESports Awards: ‘Passionate, energetic, it’s all about the players. Everything we do is for the players,'” @GuardiansTalk tweeted.

Ever since taking the position, Vogt has preached the importance of earning the players’ trust.
That’s often an overlooked aspect of managing, but it’s a priority for Vogt.
He was on the other side and he knows how a player thinks and what he needs to succeed.
Other than that, he will supply aspects of his personality to his craft: passion and energy.
As long as everybody is committed and plays the game hard, he will be happy.
That’s basically his style.
It remains to be seen if it will be successful, or if the players will pitch well enough or be productive enough.
So far, so good, though: at least as of Wednesday, everybody seems to be happy with Vogt.
