The Cleveland Guardians had an incredible month of September to erase what was an 11-game deficit in the AL Central and swipe the division away from the Detroit Tigers in the season’s final days.
Even though Detroit then eliminated Cleveland in the AL Wild Card round, at least the Guardians were able to get to the playoffs after it seemed almost impossible.
While the offense faltered in the playoffs, one Guardians player who pulled his weight late in the regular season was catcher Bo Naylor, who hit .290 with three homers and 16 RBIs in September.

He did not have 13 stolen bases, as the tweet says, but the rest of the stats are indeed impressive, especially when compared to the rest of Naylor’s campaign.
His overall numbers for the season were disappointing, as he hit just .195, but hopefully, he found something in his swing down the stretch that he can carry over into the 2026 season.
Of the 15 Guardians who had at least 120 at-bats this season, Naylor was one of 12 who hit .234 or worse, and if the team is going to improve, that has to change.
For the second offseason in a row, it’s time for the front office to understand that this is a team on the brink of the World Series that just needs a big bat or two to put it over the top.
