The Cleveland Guardians had high hopes for Travis Bazzana this season.
Unfortunately, injuries had different plans for him.
But now that the former No. 1 pick is back out there, it seems like he’s just waiting his time out at the Double-A level.
Bazzana’s latest homer drove his slash line to .341/.420/.523 with a 178 wRC+ since he has returned from the injured list.
His overall career wRC+ with the Akron RubberDucks is 148, so he’s clearly more than ready to keep climbing his way up the ladder.
This homer boosted Travis Bazzana’s batting like to .341/.420/.523 (178 wRC+) since returning from the IL.

It’s time to get him to Columbus.

Some expected the Australian infielder to be called up to the majors at one point this season.
Then, he sustained a strained oblique, which forced him to miss almost two months of action.
Those injuries usually take 8-10 weeks to heal, and he fulfilled that timeline like clockwork.
He got some work in the Arizona Complex League to rehab before re-joining the RubberDucks last week.
Bazzana dominated early on in High A last season, helping his team win the Midwest League championship.
While slightly heavy-footed for a middle infielder, his plate discipline and above-average efficiency against righties make him an intriguing and promising prospect, and hopefully, it won’t be much longer before we see him in the show.
