The Cleveland Guardians have a truly special player in Jose Ramirez.
The third baseman somehow continues to improve and becomes even more important with each passing year, which isn’t always the case for veterans as they age.
As shown by Guardians Prospective, this may have been the most impactful season of his career, which is a lot to say for someone likely bound for the Hall of Fame.
Ramirez had a 6.3 fWAR this season, which was his best percentage while leading Guardians position players in the past five years.
Easy to make the case that in 2025 Cleveland #Guardians Jose Ramirez has been more important to his team's success than any time in the past five years based (fWAR) by position players.

His 47.7 percent of the team’s 13.2 fWAR was significantly higher than last season, when he was responsible for 29.8 percent (6.5 of the Guardians’ 21.8).
That’s also better than in 2023, when he was at 32.6 percent (4.6 of 14.1), and in 2022, when he had 26.0 percent (6.0 of 23.1).
It also topped his previous best mark of 34.0 percent in 2021 (6.4 of 18.8).
Baseball is a team effort, and everybody played their part in making sure that the Guardians got to the playoffs this season.
However, it wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for Ramirez, who has been an All-Star seven times in his 13 MLB seasons.
On top of being Cleveland’s best player on the field, he is also a leader that everybody on the team can depend on.
Still far from retirement, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him go down as the greatest player in franchise history.
