The Cleveland Guardians are still in an uncomfortable spot when it comes to their trade deadline strategy.
The AL Central is likely out of reach, and they are trailing several teams in the Wild Card race.
They could be buyers, sellers or stand pat, and everything will be decided before July ends.
One of the Guardians rumored to be available is All-Star outfielder Steven Kwan.
He is one of the few productive hitters in their lineup, so it’s not likely he’ll be traded.
In fact, one MLB insider recently predicted the possibility that Kwan is wearing another uniform this season.
“Jeff Passan says the Guardians will listen to offers on Steven Kwan and lists it at a 20 percent chance that they trade him,” ESPN Cleveland wrote on X.

Kwan has yet to sign a contract extension that would keep him in Cleveland for the long term.
If the team wants to trade Kwan, he might be at the peak of his value because he is a multiple All-Star and Gold Glover under team control through 2027.
The 27-year-old has posted a 109 wRC+ and 2.1 fWAR this year, in addition to an elite strikeout rate, good bat-to-ball skills and 11 stolen bases.
It hasn’t been his best season, but he has been solid at the top of the Guardians’ lineup.
Fans, of course, are opposed to a trade involving one of their few stars, but it’s something that the team may be exploring.
Whether they decide to buy or sell, the post-deadline Guardians might look a lot different than the current version.
