The Cleveland Guardians are celebrating a special day today.
They’d better bring some cake, as Will Wilson just turned 27 years old.
The team took to social media to wish him a happy birthday.
Wilson hasn’t been much of a factor this season, with 12 hits in 69 at-bats (.174).
Happy birthday, Will! 🎂

The rookie infielder has six runs, one RBI and one stolen base with a .260 OBP, .232 SLG, .492 OPS, seven walks and 32 strikeouts.
Some players need time and experience to get settled in, and he’s just getting started in the majors.
The Guardians are all set in the infield, so it will be tough for Wilson to get the playing time he needs to improve those numbers.
Even so, it takes a whole team to find success in Major League Baseball, and those who don’t get to play that much need to stay ready so they don’t have to get ready.
The Guardians are in a crucial stretch of the season.
They have one of the easiest remaining schedules, but they don’t have any margin for error after stumbling through June and dropping in the AL Wild Card race.
Yet they have the potential to take down anybody in the postseason, provided they don’t go cold on offense again.
Though Wilson hasn’t been given much of an opportunity, perhaps he can join that long list of unsung heroes who rise to the occasion in the playoffs.
