The Cleveland Guardians are still deciding whether they will be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline.
If they are sellers, they could potentially consider moving Steven Kwan, even though the real chances of that happening are slim.
Still, with the Guardians, it’s best to never say never.
In the last few days, they have been fielding multiple calls about Kwan and his potential availability.
MLB insider Jon Heyman revealed, on Wednesday, two teams interested in the All-Star left fielder.
“Phillies and Padres are among many teams interested in Kwan,” he posted on X.

Kwan, 27, is a two-time All-Star (2024 and 2025) and a three-time Gold Glove Award winner (2022-24).
He is a difference-maker with the glove, making plays that most left fielders wouldn’t even dream of and using his potent arm to get outfield assists by the bunch.
He is also very fast, and, perhaps more importantly, he is a solid, above-average hitter.
His bat-to-ball skills and plate discipline make him an ideal leadoff hitter.
The Phillies and the Padres have been looking for outfield help for months, even years in Philadelphia’s case.
Kwan would give them a guy who can succeed at every facet of the game and then some.
To get the Guardians to trade a guy who entered Wednesday with a 110 wRC+, 44 runs scored, and 2.2 fWAR, however, they would need to make them an offer they can’t refuse, likely starting with an MLB-ready hitter and multiple prospects.
Kwan won’t be a free agent until after the 2027 campaign, which adds to his value.
In other words, he is likely staying put.
You never know, though.
