The Cleveland Guardians have found another star.
Kyle Manzardo is playing the best baseball of his career, and he’s given the team a much-needed offensive boost.
As shown by Tobey Schulman on X, the first baseman/DH has the highest wRC+ in the American League over the past couple of weeks.

Manzardo hasn’t always gotten the playing time he deserves, but he’s making it almost impossible not to play him right now.
Over his past 15 games, the lefty hitter has a .383 batting average with a 1.163 OPS, 12 RBIs and four home runs.
That has helped keep the team surging while All-Stars Steven Kwan and Jose Ramirez go through uncharacteristic slumps.
With Manzardo leading the way, the Guardians have closed the gap on the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central.
He’s up to 20 home runs, 14 doubles and two triples this season, and it seems like he just keeps getting better with more plate appearances.
Manzardo has a rare combination of contact and power, and given the lineup’s limitations, it looks like the Guardians can’t afford to have him on the bench as often as they did in the first half of the season.
This team is getting closer to an AL Wild Card, and while it should be just a matter of time before Ramirez and Kwan get back to their usual ways, the Guardians should continue to ride Manzardo for as long as he can keep his hot streak going.
