The Cleveland Guardians will be well-represented at this year’s All-Star Game with five members of the team heading to Texas for the festivities, the first time the team has sent that many players to the mid-summer classic since 2018, when it sent six.
One of those players is first baseman Josh Naylor, who will be making his first appearance in the All-Star Game and recently shared his thoughts on what the honor means to him.
Bally Sports Cleveland shared a dugout interview with Naylor and asked him about his selection, and he said: “I talked about it a lot with my brothers and my parents, I wanted to be an All-Star one day and just represent whatever organization I’m with and represent my teammates and just be able to show off kind of how much hard work you put in when no one’s watching behind closed doors.”

Naylor added it’s important to always play for that little kid in you who used to just play for fun and for free.
Naylor has already set a new career-high with 22 home runs and is well on his way to breaking his career-high for walks and RBIs as well.
He has nine more homers than any other first baseman in the American League and he will be joined by Jose Ramirez, Steven Kwan, Emmanuel Clase, and David Fry on his trip to Texas representing the best team in the American League.
He will now look to join Sandy Alomar Jr. and Shane Bieber as the only Guardians to win All-Star Game MVP.
