Against all odds, the Cleveland Guardians made the playoffs.
More than that, they made it as the AL Central champions.
That looked impossible just a couple of weeks ago.
That’s why, after clinching the division in epic fashion, team leader Jose Ramirez took to social media to send a simple yet powerful three-word message.
“Good night Cleveland,” Ramirez wrote on X.
Good night Cleveland

The All-Star third baseman played an instrumental role in making sure his team got through the finish line.
Even when he wasn’t getting things done at the plate, which didn’t happen often, he managed to make an impact.
He was an inspiration to his teammates, keeping them grounded and even-keeled despite the struggles of the season.
The Guardians trailed the Detroit Tigers by 15.5 games, and while catching them didn’t only look impossible, overcoming such a deficit had never been done in MLB history.
Cleveland was 10.5 games behind entering September.
Granted, the Tigers’ collapse gave the Guardians a big hand to make sure they got to where they are right now, but it would have been easier for Cleveland to just wave the white flag and give up on the season months ago.
The organization could’ve focused on next season.
That’s why this is also a testament to the front office’s vision and management.
Fans wanted the Guardians to add talent at the trade deadline, but the players proved that they were right in keeping the team together.
