The Cleveland Guardians might not be the most talented team left, but that means little in the playoffs.
Teams have rolled into the postseason and gone the distance many times, and one could argue that there’s no hotter team in baseball than the Guardians.
With that in mind, veteran catcher Austin Hedges put the competition on notice.
“Getting hot at the right time. Something to it. We’re hot, watch out for the Guards,” Hedges said.

Of course, that’s not to say they are overly confident heading into the playoffs as the AL Central champions.
The job is not finished, and they’re just getting started.
The field is level for every team, and anything can happen at this point.
Yet, that’s also to say that the Guardians should love their chances against anybody.
It’s not that they will look down on other teams, but after everything that they had to go through to get to this point, they might feel invincible.
They overcame a 15.5-game deficit to win the division, even with All-Star closer Emmanuel Clase on leave because of an MLB gambling investigation.
The Guardians overcame injuries and lengthy losing streaks.
It had to come down to the last out of the last game of the regular season, but they beat the odds and passed the Detroit Tigers to win the division.
Now, the Guardians open the playoffs against those Tigers in the AL Wild Card round.
