Cleveland Guardians star Jose Ramirez is on an impressive power binge.
With home run number 18 on Saturday against the Miami Marlins, J-Ram is firmly in the top five in MLB this season.
He has been able to hit 18 round-trippers in 62 games.
Imagine what his numbers could look like with about 100 more games to go.
He has been so productive from a power standpoint this year that he is almost at last year’s total of 24 home runs.
He has made adjustments to get more explosion at the moment of impacting the ball, and they have been paying off.
Dominican reporter Nathanael Pérez Neró highlighted Ramirez’s incredible power pace this season, one that may lead him to establishing a new career-high in dingers.
“El 18 para este underdog. José Ramírez proyecta llegar al Juego de Estrellas con 25 jonrones y eso lo colocaría en la ruta a su primera campaña con 40. En 2018 solo le faltó uno,” he tweeted, in Spanish.

The exact translation is “number 18 for this underdog. Jose Ramirez projects to reach the All-Star Game with 25 home runs, and that would put him on pace for his first 40-homer campaign. He came short by one in 2018”.
Ramirez, who is hitting a phenomenal .272/.335/.553 with 61 RBI and a .887 OPS, is tied with Marcell Ozuna for fourth place in long balls.
Only Aaron Judge (23), Gunnar Henderson (20) and Kyle Tucker (19) have more.
Will this be Ramirez’s first 40-homer campaign?
He hit 39 in 2018 and 36 in 2021, but he is marching at an impressive pace and it’s realistic to think that 2024 could mark his first year with at least 40 round-trippers.
Just when you thought he was starting to show his age, he comes out and does this.
What a player.
