By now, we probably don’t need to tell you that Jose Ramirez is an RBI machine.
The guy just finds a way to bring ’em home: singles, doubles, triples, home runs, sac flys, groundouts, walks… you name it, and Ramirez has used it to produce runs.
He has been so good for so long that he keeps climbing up the all-time Guardians RBI list.
This week, on Thursday, he surpassed a franchise legend and took sole possession of eighth place in Guardians history.
The team dedicated a Twitter post to Ramirez and his quest for history.

J-Ram is already up to 805 RBI (good for eighth in franchise history), all with the Guardians because it’s the only team he has played for during his career.
That’s already better than Manny Ramirez’s 804 career RBI with a Cleveland uniform.
Ramirez was one of the most feared sluggers in the 1990s and 2000s, so yes, J-Ram’s accomplishment is indeed very important.
Next on the list, No. 7, is Ken Keltner with 850.
If he keeps up his current pace, he will comfortably leapfrog Keltner and take sole possession of that seventh place before the end of the season.
The sixth-ranked Joe Sewell (869 RBI) might prove to be more of a challenge, but if Ramirez doesn’t do it this year, it will happen next year.
Eventually, Ramirez has what it takes to become the Guardians’ all-time leader in RBI in a couple of years, perhaps three: Earl Averill, with 1,084, paces them all.
He is still in his prime, he is still productive, and his OPS stands at an incredible .887 as of Friday afternoon.
Ramirez is already one of the best hitters in Guardians history, regardless of his RBI count.
