The Cleveland Guardians have one of the most special players in the game.
Dig a little deeper, and he’s also one of the most special players of all time.
As Tim Stebbins showed on X, Ramirez is now tied for the third-most seasons with at least 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases (7).
He’s tied with Eric Davis and Carlos Beltran on that exclusive list, behind only Bobby Abreu (9) and Barry Bonds and Bobby Bonds (10 each).
Players with the most 20 HR/20 SB seasons, all-time:
1. Barry Bonds, Bobby Bonds (10 each)
3. Bobby Abreu (9)
4. Carlos Beltrán, Eric Davis, José Ramírez (7)— Tim Stebbins (@tim_stebbins) July 21, 2025
Anytime you’re in the same club as those stars, you know you’re doing something well.
Ramirez is having one of the best seasons of his career, which is a lot to say about a player who’s been as consistent and dominant as they come.
There’s no reason to believe he won’t continue to be one of the driving forces in the American League.
Some believe the Guardians should trade Ramirez because they owe it to him to send him to a World Series contender.
Ramirez has a no-trade clause in his contract, so he could force his way to a team of his choosing if he wanted, and the fact that he’s stayed with Cleveland so far makes him admirable as a competitor.
