The Cleveland Guardians need a hero to get them to the finish line.
Fortunately, they have one of the best players in baseball.
Jose Ramirez is having another special season, so it’s not a surprise to see him among the MLB leaders in some major categories.
As shown by StatMuse, Ramirez is one of just four players to record at least 65 home runs and stolen bases combined this season, joining Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto and Cal Raleigh.

The Guardians’ third baseman has 28 home runs and 37 stolen bases.
He’s 11 home runs from his career high (39), which he set back in 2018 and equalled last season, and four stolen bases away from his best mark (41), which he also posted last season.
He’s well behind Raleigh for the lead for home runs (the Seattle Mariners catcher has 53), as he’s tied for 21st.
However, in stolen bases, he’s third, trailing only Jose Caballero (43) and Chandler Simpson (39).
His ability to hit balls to the pull side also ranks among the best in the league.
Ramirez contributes to all aspects of the game like few players can.
So, even though it won’t be easy for the Guardians to reach the postseason, they always have a chance when Ramirez is in the lineup.
