The Cleveland Guardians are making a late push for an AL Wild Card spot, and without the consistent stellar production from third baseman Jose Ramirez, there’s no telling how this season could have gone.
Ramirez has been the stabilizing force in this organization for a decade, and he recently opened up about a special pregame event with his daughter, Isabella.
“For me, it’s my best moment. To see my kid throw the first pitch and catch the ball, it’s my best moment. Yeah, [being a dad made me a better person]. My life changed after my kid came here. Sometimes, I’m 0-for-3. Sometimes, I’m angry. When I go home, I’ll be happy because my niña says, ‘Hola, papi!’ Changed my life,” Ramirez said.
"Changed my life."
José loves being a dad and you can tell how much it means to him.

In a season filled with injuries, controversies and offensive ineptitude, Ramirez’s moment with his daughter was a heartwarming highlight.
Having children can make it easier for an athlete to avoid bringing a bad day at work home with them.
As Ramirez said, he can move on from it as soon as he sees his kids.
The father of three has been an incredible role model for the city of Cleveland and baseball fans everywhere, and the Guardians are fortunate to have a player like that leading their franchise.
